Drive Electric NSW EV Ready Buildings Grant
If you live in an apartment building and want an EV charging station installed, the Drive Electric NSW EV Ready Buildings Grant may help offset the cost of this.
The Drive Electric NSW EV Ready Buildings Grant is in 2 stages.
The first stage is to co-fund feasibility assessments or review previously completed feasibility assessments. The building owners will fund the first $2,000 ex GST and the program will cover the remainder of the fee.
The second stage is to co fund the actual installation of the EV charging infrastructure for apartment buildings. The grant will fund up to:
- 80% towards the cost of retrofitting electrical infrastructure to make the building EV ready (capped at a total value of $80,000 ex GST).
- 50% towards the cost of software subscriptions for two years (capped at a total value of $1,200 ex GST ).
Eligible sites must:
- Be located in a NSW Local Government Area.
- Be a registered strata scheme under the Strata Schemes Development Act 2015 (NSW).
- Be classified as a class 2 building under the National Building Code with ten or more units.
- Have private and/or common property visitor (or shared) off-street parking as part of the strata scheme
- Have no more than four existing EV chargers installed for buildings with less than 40 parking spaces.
- Be able to implement EV charging infrastructure that can be accessed by all residents equitably.
