CSIRO Kick-Start Program Update June 2025
CSIRO Kick-Start is an initiative for Australian start-ups and small businesses, providing funding support and access to CSIRO’s research expertise and capabilities to help these businesses grow and develop.
Under the CSIRO Kick-Start program you can access up to 2 KickStart vouchers of between $10,000 and $50,000 (matched dollar-for-dollar by a cash contribution from business) to assist in accessing CSIRO research capability. Note can only access one voucher at a time.
So if you need some help with access to research skills that a CSIRO business unit or facility has, this program may be for you.
Eligible projects
Your project could include:
- Research into a new idea with commercial potential.
- Developing a brand-new product or service with commercial potential to increase your customer base
- Testing a novel product developed by the company
Eligibility
To be eligible, your Australian business must:
- Have an annual turnover and operating expenditure <$10 million, in the current and each of the two previous financial years OR have been a registered company for less than three years.
- Have an ACN / ABN and are registered for GST.
- Must be able to provide matched funding.
