Enterprising ME Kickstarter Challenge
The Enterprising Me Kickstarter Challenge aims to support women to create self-made career paths, pursue entrepreneurship as a career choice and master the skills required to run their own businesses.
The winner of the challenge will receive $30,000, and the 4 other finalists $7,500 each.
Kickstarter Challenge Categories
There are 5 business idea categories and the winner of each category will qualify as a finalist. There is also a popular vote and the winner of this will automatically qualify as a Finalist. The categories are
- Health, Wellbeing and The Care Economy – How can we innovate to address the health and wellbeing challenges facing Australians?
- Environment and Sustainability – What sustainable solutions can help protect our environment and climate?
- Community Impact – What innovative idea will empower and provide value to the community?
- Technology – What innovative idea will empower and provide value to the community?
- Education – What solutions will promote successful teaching and learning or improve educational outcomes for Australians?
Eligibility
The Enterprising Me Kickstarter Challenge is to help women kickstart their new businesses, therefore your business must meet the following criteria:
- You must be a female-founded startup, majority owned and led by women, inclusive of those who identify as female
- Be at least 18 and reside in Australia
- Be registered with an ABN (sole traders can apply) and have their primary place of business within Australia
- If trading, commenced on or after 1 January 2023
- Have business revenue below $75,000 in the last 12 months of trading from date of application, inclusive of grants
There is no limit to the number of entries that may be submitted for separate business ideas.
Assessment Criteria
Entries will be evaluated against:
- How well you communicated your vision
- The relevance of your idea to the category
- How strong is your unique selling point is
- The explanation and understanding of the target market
- How financially viable your idea is
- How you have shown an understanding of your competitors
- Evidence of a thoughtful and strategic marketing approach
- Whether your concept shows potential for growth and scalability
- The clarity and strength of the overall submission (including presentation, branding and pitch video)
