Australia’s Economic Accelerator Grants
Even though the Australia’s Economic Accelerator Grants are only directly available for universities, if your business is creating solutions in one of the six National Manufacturing Priority areas your business may be able to benefit.
How, because the universities need to partner with industry.
So this is a way that you may be able to access subsidised resources to develop and commercialise your technology. Think about having PhD students as part of your workforce, paid in part or full by the university. Think of the pool of talent you have available for the recruitment of high-calibre staff.
The downside is that you will have to share some of the benefit with the university. But this is no different to you going out and finding investors to fund your projects anyway.
The 6 national manufacturing priority areas are, resources and critical minerals, food and beverage, medical products, recycling and clean energy, defence and space.
Grants will be available from 1 July 2022. If you are in this space, it may pay to start talking to your local university to see if they are interested in partnering with your business.
