Business Survival Guide – Grabbing Opportunity

To help your business survive and thrive during these uncertain times, you need to be ready for any opportunity that may come your way.

During these uncertain times, many businesses will stumble and falter.  New opportunities open up. Creating room for the strong and opportunistic businesses to step in and grow.

These can be access to new customers in your existing markets that others are no longer serving properly.  Or this can be new products or services that better serve the customer’s needs.

The key here is empathy for your existing and potential customers.  Understand that they are going through the same uncertain times as you are.   They will be concerned with their key suppliers because if you falter, they may falter as well.

You need to let your existing and potential customers that you are thinking of them and ask them what you can do to make their lives easier.  Tell them you are available to help any way you can.

Think of ways for you to stand out from your competitors.

Look for ways you can increase your goodwill with your existing and potential customers and the community in general.

And then think about how you can leverage on this and start grabbing opportunity.

For example, look at the free marketing Coles and Woolworths are getting by opening their stores early just for the elderly.  The news media is focused on these uncertain times and are always looking for a different angle.  Why can’t you be that different angle and get free publicity.

And if you have a solid cash runway, you should seriously think about extending your marketing.  When others are cutting back, push forward but make sure the messaging sits with what the market wants now.
