Changes are coming to the Professional Employees Award 2020
If you employ professionally qualified staff in the information technology, medical research, quality auditing or telecommunications services industries, you need to be aware that there are changes coming in terms of award requirements around ordinary hours of work and overtime payments.
This may impact what you need to legally pay your staff to avoid being labelled a wage thief.
One saving grace is that employees who have a contractual entitlement to an annual salary which exceeds the appropriate minimum annual award wage for their classification by 25%, are exempt from most of these changes.
