Dine & Discover NSW Business Registration now open
A while ago, I posted about the benefits to NSW businesses in the dining, arts or tourism sectors from the Dine & Discover NSW program. And I recommended that any eligible businesses should register.
But not all eligible businesses have registered. We have seen, as we start to use our Dine & Discover NSW vouchers, that a number of our favourite eating places have not registered.
Unfortunately for these businesses, we are spending our money first at other registered businesses. And other people may be doing the same.
If your business is eligible but has not registered for the Dine & Discover NSW program, you still can. I urge you to do this asap so you too can share in some of the money people are spending to support your industry.
Read below to find out more.
If your business is in the dining, arts or tourism business and is NSW based, you should seriously consider registering your business now to be eligible for the Dine & Discover NSW program.
Under this program, every NSW resident aged 18 and over will be eligible for vouchers worth $100 in total and can be used for:
- eating in at restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs and clubs from Monday to Thursday, excluding public holidays (two $25 vouchers).
- entertainment and recreation, including cultural institutions, live music, and arts venues, available 7 days a week, excluding public holidays (two $25 vouchers).
Note the vouchers cannot be used for retail, tobacco, alcohol, gambling or accommodation.
So, if a customer comes into your eligible business, and spends $40, they pay you $15 and the NSW government pays you $25. In this case, the customer gets a discount of over 60%.
Now unless you want your potential customers to go next door and get this discount from someone else, you need to register your business.
Business eligibility rules
To be eligible for Dine & Discover NSW, your business needs to:
