Victorian Equity Investment Attraction Fund

The Victorian Equity Investment Attraction Fund prioritises direct equity investments in high-growth companies of strategic interest to Victoria, which are looking to scale up their business. Its primary focus will be on attracting international or interstate startups to Victoria.

The Equity Investment Attraction Fund will take non-controlling minority stakes in companies and will aim to co-invest with lead institutional investors to leverage their due diligence skills. It will aim to invest between AUD $1 million and AUD $5 million per investment round,.

Eligible Businesses

To be on interest to the Equity Investment Attraction Fund, your business:

Be willing to locate and invest large and/or critical parts of its operations within Victoria.
Be an unlisted start-up.
Possess novel and protected intellectual property with high commercial potential for Victoria.
Have a strong lead investor, and
Are in the process of raising funds.
It is preferred if your business is in one of the key focus areas being Health and life sciences: Agri-food; Advanced manufacturing; Clean technology; Digital technologies. But they will consider other areas depending on the technology and potential contribution to Victoria

Note there are several industries that the fund will not invest in including Real estate; Derivatives for speculative purposes; Publicly listed companies; Tobacco or tobacco related products; Cluster munitions and other controversial weapons; Thermal coal; Gambling; Logging of old growth forests; Uranium; Unregulated animal testing; Live cattle and/or sheep exports; Fracking.
