Filter Bubble
A little while ago I came across a word I had never heard before “solipsistic”. So I went and looked it up.
There are a lot of fancy words to describe this, but in my view, it means that we place filters on the information we receive and tend to disregard most things that disagree with our own viewpoint. We tend to stay isolated in our bubble, hence why some people call this the “Filter Bubble”.
It made me think about running a business. How many great ideas or opportunities do we miss because they don’t fit into our pre-existing “bubble” and we disregard them?
My question to you, is do you filter out any great ideas because they don’t fit into your existing viewpoint?
