Kangaroo Valley road closure small business grant

If your small business or not-for-profit organisation in Kangaroo Valley was impacted by the floods and subsequent landslides in March 2022, you may be eligible for a one-off $10,000 Kangaroo Valley road closure small business grant.

Eligibility for the Kangaroo Valley road closure small business grant

To be eligible for this grant your business must:

  • your small business or not-for-profit organisation must be physically located and operating in Kangaroo Valley suburbs of Barrengarry, Beaumont, Budgong, Kangaroo Valley, Upper Kangaroo River and Upper Kangaroo Valley
  • have an active ABN, registered on or before 1 February 2022
  • had an aggregated annual turnover of between $75,000 and $10 million (inclusive) for the financial year ended 30 June 2021 or 30 June 2020
  • experienced a decline in turnover of 40% or more due to the impacts of the road closures during the entire month of March 2022 compared to the entire month of March 2021 or March 2020 (note declines in turnover for other reasons such as closing for renovations is not an eligible turnover reduction)
  • intend to continue operating or re-establish operations in Kangaroo Valley

And your business can not have received a grant under any of the following other NSW Government grants:

  • February and March 2022 storm and flood disaster recovery small business grant of up to $50,000
  • June and July 2022 storm and flood disaster recovery small business grant of up to $50,000
  • Primary producer special disaster grant of up to $75,000 for the February 2022 NSW floods
  • Rural Landholders Grant of up to $25,000 for the February 2022 NSW floods.

What does the Kangaroo Valley road closure small business grant cover

This grant is to help pay for your business’ operating costs during the road closure period, which includes, but is not limited to:

  • salaries and wages
  • utilities and rent
  • government fees and charges (including local government rates)
  • financial, legal or other services
  • marketing or communications
  • perishable goods
  • other business costs.

But cannot be used on costs that you are entitled to make a claim for under an insurance policy.
