Mandatory Vaccination by business owners on staff
Firstly, if you don’t impose mandatory vaccinations and one of your staff are infected with Covid-19 at your workplace, what liability do you as a business owner have?
Secondly, what happens if you impose mandatory vaccinations and one of your staff has an adverse reaction? Are you liable and if so, would your insurance such as workers compensation cover this?
Thirdly, what happens if you have never enforced mandatory vaccinations or other health measures and try to impose mandatory vaccinations and a staff member refuses? Do you have any legal grounds to enforce the vaccine or terminate their employment?
What is the impact on your staff if one of your team members has a valid medical reason not to be vaccinated and does not get vaccinated?
By all means make sure your workplace is safe in all other areas, but I would suggest you get written advice from an appropriate legal person before you implement a mandatory staff vaccination policy if you have never done anything similar in the past.
