If you currently rely on government support or Identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, and want to start or grow your own small business, you may be able to access business coaching and financial support via the Many Rivers Small Business Support program.
The program can help with:
- Understanding and meeting business registration and insurance requirements
- Market research and marketing ideas
- Risk analysis
- Review of cashflow and bookkeeping support
- Establishing links with customers and suppliers
- Pro bono legal advice
- Access to microfinance loans to help get the business started – based on an assessment of the individual’s character, capacity and cashflow
And there’s no cost to participate in the Many Rivers Small Business Support program.
Who Can Apply?
Eligible applicants include those who:
- Have a low-income household.
- Identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
- Have an existing business they want to expand.
- Currently rely on government income support such as the JobSeeker payment, parenting payment, special benefit, NEIS support or disability payments.
