NSW Going Global Export Program – Edtech to the UK

The NSW Going Global Export program itself

The NSW Going Global Export program helps eligible NSW business to access free support to expand to new international markets.  It does this by providing access to

  • online workshops
  • business matching
  • coaching from a dedicated Export Advisers
  • access to the NSW Trade and Investment Commissioner in-market
  • support from industry experts
  • training in marketing and e-commerce. 

The program is split into streams being Health and Medtech, Technology and Food and Beverage.

Within each stream there are various different product and market subsets, which open for businesses to apply for from time to time.

And one such product / market subset that opened on 4 October 2022 was “Edtech to the UK” under the technology stream. Note applications close 30 October 2022.

NSW Going Global Export Program – Edtech to the UK

The program released in October 2022 for the NSW Going Global Export Program – Edtech to the UK is focused on the activity period November 2022 to May 2023 with a key event BETT in London in March 2023.

To be eligible to apply for the overall NSW Going Global Program your business:

  • Have headquarters in NSW with a valid ABN
  • Be export-capable and export-ready
  • Have between 3 and 199 full-time equivalent employees
  • Have a commercial product or service
  • Have a website featuring the product or service
  • Be prepared to adapt the product or service for the market
  • Have a product or service that is produced primarily in NSW
  • Not be considered a trader (meaning this is for businesses that produce and add value in NSW)

Additional eligibility requirements for the Edtech to UK stream

  • Market-ready product or service
  • Funding or revenue to support market expansion to the UK
  • Demonstrated growing customer base in Australia

Note you can only apply for one stream at a time.

What the NSW Going Global Export Program – Edtech to the UK covers

You get access to:

  • Exporting workshops such as pitch training and IP Protection
  • Market intelligence briefings and cultural training specific to Ed Techs including introduction to the UK’s business culture and etiquette and the UK’s education.
  • Industry opportunities including support with participation at Bett tradeshow and business matching and networking opportunities with potential customers and partners.
  • In-market assistance, ongoing advice and follow up.
