NSW Going Global Export Program – Food and Beverage to Middle East
If you an Food and Beverage business thinking of expanding to the Middle East, the NSW Going Global Export Program – Food and Beverage to Middle East program may be for you.
Eligible businesses can apply for support to export processed foods, health-foods, fresh and dried fruit, vegetables, nuts, seafood, meat and dairy or plant-based alternatives, and non-alcoholic beverages to the Middle East (United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia).
The program released in September 2023 for the NSW Going Global Export Program – Food and Beverage to Middle East is focused on the activity period October 2023 to June 2024 with a key event Gulfood 2024 in Dubai in February 2024.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for the overall NSW Going Global Program your business:
- Have headquarters in NSW with a valid ABN
- Be export-capable and export-ready
- Have between 10 and 199 full-time equivalent employees, or a minimum annual turnover of $1.5m
- The product or service is achieving sales already
- Have a website featuring the product or service
- Be prepared to adapt the product or service for the market
- Have a product or service that is produced primarily in NSW
Additional eligibility requirements for the Food and Beverage to Middle East stream
- The export product must already have valid halal certification
- In-person participation at Gulfood 2024
- Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) certification, where relevant
- Production capability to support the new market
- Financial resources to support marketing and development for the new markets
Businesses not eligible for this stream:
- Alcoholic products
- Companies acting as agents of food manufacturers
- Poultry products
- Past NSW Going Global Export Program “UAE and Middle East” participants
