NSW Going Global Export Program – SaaS to the USA

If you have a unique and innovative SaaS (Software as a Service) product with a compelling proposition for the US market, then the NSW Going Global Export Program – SaaS to the USA program may be for you.

The NSW Going Global Export program itself

The NSW Going Global Export program helps eligible NSW business to access free support to expand to new international markets. It does this by providing access to

online workshops
business matching
coaching from a dedicated Export Advisers
access to the NSW Trade and Investment Commissioner in-market
support from industry experts
training in marketing and e-commerce.

The program is split into streams being Health and Medtech, Technology and Food and Beverage.

Within each stream there are various different product and market subsets, which open for businesses to apply for from time to time.

And one such product / market subset that opened on 24 October 2022 was “SaaS to USA” under the Technology stream. Note applications close 20 November 2022.

NSW Going Global Export Program – SaaS to USA

This program provides support for businesses to export SaaS (software as a service) products and services to the USA and is focused on the activity period January to April 2023.

To be eligible to apply for the overall NSW Going Global Program your business:

Have headquarters in NSW with a valid ABN
Be export-capable and export-ready
Have between 3 and 199 full-time equivalent employees
The product or service is achieving sales already
Have a website featuring the product or service
Be prepared to adapt the product or service for the market
Have a product or service that is produced primarily in NSW

Additional eligibility requirements for the SaaS to USA stream you must:

Funding or generating revenue to support US market expansion
Clear pathway to profitability or already a profitable business
Have already identified potential customers and partners in the US and/or already have some market traction
Commitment to setting up in the USA in the next 12-18 months

Businesses not eligible for this stream:

Service providers and consultants
Previous Going Global Program participants “to the USA”

Note you can only apply for one stream at a time.

You get access to:

Introduction to the SaaS ecosystem and doing business in the USA
Market intelligence briefings and cultural training including subsector-specific opportunities/ key trends US SaaS market
Potential partner search and introductions and business matching
In-market assistance, mentoring, ongoing advice and follow up.
