Are you getting ready for lodging NSW MVP Ventures Program EOI?

The NSW MVP Ventures Program re-opens on 4 December 2023 when you can lodge an expression of interest (EOI).

And based on the number of people I am talking to who are interested in applying for the NSW MVP Ventures Program, there is pent-up demand. And it is this pent-up demand that may hurt the unprepared business.

Why?

Under the revamped program, there is only $3m pa in funding available which limits the maximum number of applicants to 120 if they all only get $25,000 in funding. Less if they award higher funding to some applicants. And, applications will be will be assessed in the order in which they are received.

As a result, I am expecting for this round of funding there will be businesses with eligible projects who miss out. Not because their project does not deserve funding, but simply because they were slower in the process than others.

So, each and every business wanting to apply for the MVP Venture Fund needs to be prepared. And the starting point is the lodging the EOI.

Now currently we don’t know what information you will need to supply as part of the actual online EOI form, but we do know that you will need to provide the following supporting documents as part of the EOI process:

a pitch deck (max 10 slides) or a link to an online video (max 3 minutes) that clearly demonstrates how your product or process meets the innovation criteria
Accountants declaration in respect of your turnover and headcount
Financial statements

And getting these supporting documents will take time. Hence why you need to start getting ready for 4 December when the EOI applications for the NSW MVP Ventures Program will open.
