Quarterly Business Exits Dec 2022
Here is another example of the impact of lockdowns, product and labour constraints and now interest rates on Australian Businesses. According to the ABS, there were 150,282 business exits in the December 2022 quarter. This is 27% higher than the December 2019 quarter. And this follows on from the September 2022 quarter there were 127,255 business exits which was nearly 44% higher than the September 2019 quarter.
Overall in 2022 business exits were 23% higher than 2019.
Wonder what the stats will look like in the March 2023 quarter as the post Christmas let down occurs?
