SafeWork small business rebate

The SafeWork small business rebate of up to $1000 helps NSW small business owners purchase safety items that improve work health and safety. 

To be eligible for this rebate, your business needs an ABN and has less than 50 full time employees.  Sole traders are also eligible.  Note you can only receive the rebate once over the past 5 years.

Note, you must attend an eligible SafeWork NSW activity, which could be a webinar, before you purchase your ‘eligible safety solution’.

What can you spend the money on?

Typically the safety items are ones that:

  • prevent slips, trips and falls, or being hit by moving objects  
  • make it safer to lift or move heavy items, including very large items
  • prevent injuries caused by doing the same task often
  • prevent harm from noise
  • make handling and storing chemicals safer
  • help you manage COVID-19, but, you can’t claim for personal protective equipment.
