Sovereign Industrial Capability Priority Grant
The Sovereign Industrial Capability Priority Grant Batch 5 program aims to support Australian SMEs to supply capabilities that are most critical to defence.

Grants range from $50,000 to $1.0 million on 50:50 matched funding basis.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be an Australian company with an ABN with less than 200 employees.
  • Have evidence that the Board or Chief Executive Officer supports the project and the business can complete it.
  • Have a declaration confirming that the business can fund its share of the costs.

Eligible activities

The project must directly relate to the buying, leasing, constructing, installing or commissioning of capital equipment including specialist software to enhance cyber security and may also include:

  • design, engineering and commissioning activities
  • workforce training and accreditations

One of the key assessment criteria is the extent to which your project will help you contribute Defence’s Sovereign Industrial Capability Priorities.  These priorities include:

  • Combat clothing survivability and signature reduction technologies
  • Munitions and small arms research, design, development and manufacture
  • Land combat and protected vehicles and technology upgrades
  • Aerospace platform deeper maintenance and structural integrity
  • Collins class submarine maintenance and technology upgrade
  • Continuous shipbuilding program (including rolling submarine acquisition)
  • Enhanced active phased array and passive radar capability
  • Advanced signal processing capability
  • Surveillance and intelligence
  • Test, evaluation, certification and systems assurance
  • Robotics, autonomous systems, and artificial intelligence
  • Precision guided munitions, hypersonic weapons, and integrated air and missile defence systems
  • Space
  • Information warfare and cyber capabilities
