Time does not wait.  And it doesn’t give warnings either.

I was sitting down the coast between Christmas and New Year, listening to CDs playing randomly on the stereo.  And yes — actual CDs.

Then Time by Pink Floyd came on from Dark Side of the Moon.  Its message is just as relevant today as it was over 50 years ago.

The lyrics that always hit me are:

“And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.”

As business owners, we often wait.
For clarity.
For confidence.
For the “right time”.

But no one fires the starting gun for you.

So many people stay busy…
But don’t actually move forward.

Busy planning.
Busy preparing.
Busy waiting for the perfect moment.

Meanwhile, time keeps moving.

And one day you realise the time has gone and you missed the starting gun.

If this resonates, take it as a nudge — not to rush, but to act with intention.

PS: Yes, actual CDs… in a stereo with a turntable, cassette player and a CD stacker.  Not a Bluetooth or USB port in sight.  I hadn’t even made it to the vinyl or cassettes yet — that came later 😄
