Victorian Aboriginal Business Support Program
The Victorian Aboriginal Business Support Program aims to provide business support that will improve the operations and financial sustainability of an Aboriginal business. Grants range from $5,000 to $10,000 and can be used activities including training, mentorship, networking, marketing, expert advisory services and accreditation.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the Victorian Aboriginal Business Growth Program, the business must:
- be a for profit Aboriginal owned and operated business (at least 51% owned and operated by Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people) with an ABN and registered for GST
- operate in Victoria and engage with regional suppliers or have activity servicing regional areas
Activities and expenses eligible for funding
Funds can be used to:
- improve the skills of owners and employees (e.g. mentoring, coaching, training)
- develop products or services (e.g. research, development and testing)
- expand into new markets (e.g. accreditations, marketing and promotion)
- improve operations (e.g. software purchases, acquiring professional advisory services).
